Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026. This policy covers both the Drink Buddy Android app and this website (drinkbuddy.trendypublishing.com).
Data collected by the app
On-device data
Your weight, biological sex, drink log entries and timestamps, personal unit limits, and preferences (such as dark mode) are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to us or to any server we control. Uninstalling the app, or using "Clear All Data" in the app's settings, permanently removes it.
Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate, for example which tabs are viewed, when drinks are added, edited or removed, when data is exported or imported, and when the app is rated or shared. This is standard event-level usage analytics tied to an anonymous device or installation identifier, not to your name or the content of your drink data. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy for how Firebase/Google handles this data.
Advertising (AdMob)
The free version of Drink Buddy shows ads served by Google AdMob. For users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, a consent prompt (Google's User Messaging Platform) appears before any personalised advertising, in line with GDPR requirements. You can choose non-personalised ads through that prompt, or remove ads entirely with Drink Buddy Premium.
Subscriptions and payments (RevenueCat and Google Play Billing)
Drink Buddy Premium purchases are processed through Google Play Billing and managed via RevenueCat, which tracks subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat receives a purchase or subscription identifier and entitlement status, it does not receive your drink-tracking data. Payment details themselves, such as card numbers, are handled entirely by Google Play, we never see them.
Data collected by this website
This website, the guides and calculators at drinkbuddy.trendypublishing.com, does not currently run analytics or advertising, and has no account system, forms or newsletter sign-up. Our hosting provider, GitHub Pages, logs standard, aggregated technical request data, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability, consistent with GitHub's own privacy policy. If we add analytics or advertising to this website in future, we will update this policy first.
Children's privacy
Drink Buddy is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Your data, your control
Because your drink-tracking data lives on your device, you're always in control of it, export it, delete it via "Clear All Data" in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything. For Firebase Analytics and AdMob, you can limit ad tracking and reset your advertising identifier in your device's system settings at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change which analytics or advertising services we use. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do.
